Remove paint and sealing products from a concrete floor using a drum sander to ensure the vinyl flooring adhesive bonds successfully. Sweep the floor with a push broom to clean up dirt and dust. Use a water-based degreaser to spot clean oily marks from the floor and wipe over the floor with a damp mop.

Install at least 1/4-inch underlayment-grade plywood over a wooden subfloor, as recommended by Tarkett. Remove dust and dirty marks from the plywood underlayment to ensure the Domco flooring adheres effectively. Repair uneven areas of either a concrete or wooden floor with a latex-based hydraulic-cementitious patching compound, as recommended by the vinyl flooring manufacturer.

Acclimatize your Domco flooring and adhesive between 65- and 100-degrees Fahrenheit for at least 48 hours before installation. Take measurements of the floor area and use a utility knife to cut the vinyl flooring to the floor dimensions, allowing an additional 2 inches around the floor perimeter.

Lay out the vinyl flooring in the room and position weighty objects on top to prevent the flooring from sliding out of position. Cut way excess material at inside and outside corners to make the vinyl easier to fit around the floor perimeter. Use a hook-blade knife to cut the vinyl to fit at the bottom of walls, as recommended by the manufacturer.

Pull back the Domco flooring to expose half the sub-floor. Spread Tarkett DT-201 vinyl floor adhesive over the subfloor using a 1/32-by-1/16-by-1/32-inch trowel. Position the vinyl back over the adhesive using a gentle low-angled delivery to prevent air pockets. Bed the flooring into place with a three-sectioned 75 lb. manual roller.

Repeat Step 5 for the other half of the vinyl flooring. Use a small hand roller to bed the Domco flooring into the adhesive around the perimeter edge. Keep the installed flooring at a minimum of 65 degrees Fahrenheit to maintain adhesive performance.
