GE Dishwasher: Error Codes | HomeSteady

Getting an error on a GE dishwasher can be frustrating. If you do not have a manual or guide, it may be challenging to find a solution to the error. Understanding the different codes will help you get your dishwasher up and running again.

Identification

The GE error codes appear as "C#" codes. The numbers range from 1 to 8 and flash on the LCD panel. Sometimes beeping goes along with the error message and continues until you press a button.

Considerations

During a power outage, the "PF" error appears and is the most common error. Hold the power button on the dishwasher until the "PF" error disappears.

Effects

Errors "C1," "C2" and "C3" have to do with blockage or restriction on the drain valve and line. Errors "C4" and "C5" are water pressure errors and have to do with the valve. Errors "C6" and "C7" are water temperature errors and have to do with the temperature sensor. Error "C8" means the detergent cup is blocked by a foreign object.

Prevention/Solution

Follow your dishwasher manual or the Appliance Junk fault list for basic repair instructions. If the error appears again, contact GE customer service to find out warranty and repair information.
