How to Activate the Garage Remote with an XC90
The XC90 is a crossover sports-utility vehicle manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars. The XC90 features a HomeLink remote transmitter system that can be used in place of your garage-door remote transmitter.
Before you can use the HomeLink remote transmitter system, however, you will need to activate and program the HomeLink system to recognize your garage-door opener.
Place the key in the ignition and start your Volvo XC90. The car should be in the garage, so you will be near the main motor unit of the garage-door opener.
Press and hold the button on your garage-door remote transmitter.
Press and hold the "1" button on the reverse side of the driver's-side visor in your car. The display light on the visor will flash rapidly at first, but will turn solid green after approximately 10 seconds.
Release the button on the garage-door remote transmitter and release the button on the visor after the light turns solid green.
Move quickly to the main motor unit of your garage-door opener and press the "Learn" button on the side or back of the unit within 30 seconds after releasing the button on your visor.
Return to the vehicle and press the "1" button on your visor within 30 seconds of pressing the "Learn" button on the motor of the garage-door opener. The display light on the visor will flash three times, indicating that the activation is complete.
