How to Clean a Coffee Pot Plate
A coffee pot plate, also known as a coffee pot base plate, coffee warming plate or carafe warmer, usually serves two functions – the plate acts as a rest for the coffee pot while coffee drips into the pot or the plate heats to keep coffee warm.
As the plate can burn and harden any ground coffee particles or brewed coffee that falls onto its surface, you must clean the plate every day and after any spills, so that it can continue to perform efficiently.
Turn off and unplug the coffee maker that has a warming plate or turn off and unplug a warming-only plate.
Wait for the unit to cool completely, typically, within 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove the coffee pot from the plate and set it aside.
Dampen a lint-free cloth with warm water and wipe the plate – top and housing – to remove any coffee residue or dust. To remove tough stains, dampen a non-abrasive plastic scrubbing pad or melamine resin foam eraser, rub the stain gently away and then rinse with a clean damp cloth.
Wipe the plate dry with another lint-free cloth when finished. Plug the plate or coffee maker back in and use as needed.

Never submerge the plate in any type of liquid. Doing so can damage electrical components and cause it to malfunction.
