How to Dissolve PVC Pipe Glue

Purchase an adhesive-removing spray from a local supermarket, hardware store or home improvement center. Most commercial brands will safely and effectively dissolve even the toughest of glues from almost any surface, including PVC plastic.

Follow the product instructions to apply the solution. You may need to spray the affected surface directly or onto a rag first, depending on the brand.

Allow the remover to set for the instructed length of time before it takes effect, which is typically under one minute. The solvent will then begin to dissolve the glue, enabling you to loosen it with ease.

Use a microfiber cloth or cleaning rag to lift the softened glue from the PVC. Wipe the area thoroughly until there are no traces of adhesive remover, and you will have successfully removed the pipe glue.
