How to Install a Honda EU3000 Battery
If your Honda EU3000 generator battery stops holding a charge, you can replace it yourself to get your generator back up and running. The EU3000 uses a 12-volt battery that provides the power source to start the generator. Buy a replacement battery from an auto parts or home repair store and save the substantial fees associated with shipping the unit back to the manufacturer.
Step 1
Remove the four bolts on the generator's front cover with a socket and ratchet. Pull the cover off the unit.
Step 2
Loosen the negative battery terminal with a socket and ratchet. Remove the cable from the negative post. Repeat this for the positive cable.
Step 3
Unthread the retaining strap over the battery. Lift the battery out of the tray and install the new one in the same alignment as the one you removed.
Step 4
Replace the retaining strap, threading it through the clip on the inside edge. Attach the positive battery cable and tighten it with a socket and ratchet. Repeat this for the negative battery cable.
Step 5
Position the generator cover back in place. Secure the cover with the four bolts and tighten them with a socket and ratchet.
