How to Install a Lift Rod in a Bathroom Sink
You do not need tools to install or adjust the lift rod assembly in your bathroom sink, meaning you should be able to complete the task in less than 20 minutes. You will likely need to adjust the assembly in order to ensure that the pop-up stopper in the sink sits high enough to allow the water to drain when you push down on the lift rod, as well as sit low enough to keep the water in the sink when you pull up on the lift rod.

Slide the retaining nut on the pivot rod into the opening in the sink's drainpipe. Thread the retaining nut on the pipe's opening by twisting the nut clockwise. Fill the sink with at least an inch of water to make sure the stopper seals correctly. Adjust the stopper by threading the end of the pivot rod through another hole in the clevis.
