How to Remove Mango Stains

Mangoes are juicy, sweet and delicious. The only drawback with mango is the messy aftermath. Because the fruit is naturally succulent and soft, it is notorious for its sticky and slimy residue. Mangoes will occasionally leave a yellow-orange stain on fabrics.

  • Liquid soap
  • Rags
  • Washing machine

Since their natural hue is somewhat light, the stains can be simple to remove, but the trick is to remove them while they're still fresh.

Upholstery Stains

  • Scrape off any excess mango from the upholstery.

  • Mix 1 tbsp. of liquid hand soap with 2 cups of water.

  • Dip a clean rag into the soap mixture and blot it into the upholstery until it is absorbed into the fabric.

  • Keep blotting the rag into the upholstery until the stain is removed.

  • Use a damp sponge to absorb any excess soap.

  • Blot with a dry rag to dry the upholstery.

  • Clothing Stains

  • Scrape excess mango off the clothing.

  • Rinse the stain under cold water.

  • Add bleach that is safe for the fabric in the washing machine and launder with the warmest water.
