How to Remove Salt Stains From Ceramic Tile

Keeping your ceramic tile floors clean can be a very difficult task. This task can become extremely hard during the winter time. Those little white salt stains that are usually associated with winter ice clean-up can be a real eyesore on your tile. Fortunately, there is an easy removal technique that will have your floors salt free and gleaming in no time.

  • Fill a bucket with one gallon of warm water.

  • Add 2 tbsp. of ammonia and 1 tbsp. of borax to the bucket of warm water.

  • Wet the head of a micro-fiber mop with the cleaning solution from the bucket.

  • Move the wet mop over the surface of the stained area to clean the tile.

  • Re-wet the mop and repeat step 4, if needed.

  • Wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth. Allow the ceramic tile to air dry.
